HIGH HOLY DAYS

Letter from the High Holy Days Committee

Rosh, Hashanah (New Year 5784) and Yom Kippur - the Days of Awe - are just around the corner.

"When the shofar blows…it reminds us to turn our gaze inward, and to place judgment at the gates of our consciousness, to shift our focus from the outside world to the considerable activity taking place in the window through which we view it."
- Rabbi Alan Lew 2003

All the information you will need to prepare and plan for the High Holy Days, which start with Selichot on Saturday. September 9, is below. View the High Holy Days Schedule below for details.

There is also an interactive Order Form that you can use to submit your L'Shanah Tovah greetings, names of loved ones to be included in the Book of Remembrance, and your reservations for Break the Fast. The deadline for submissions is August 25.

Participating in services again this year with Rabbi Bloom will be Cantorial Soloist Adriana Urato and the High Holy Days Choir under the direction of Music Director, David Kimbell, and Accompanist Charlie Curtis.

If you are unable to join us in the sanctuary, service can be accessed by going to our website
or the Congregation Beth Yam Facebook page.
